Who we are

This website (makeup-byemma.com) is operated by Emma, doing business as Makeup-byEmma, a sole proprietorship based in Stafford, Virginia, USA ("I", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information the website collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Information we collect

• Booking request form: your name, email address, the service you are interested in, and — if you choose to give them — your event date and a message. We also record that you accepted the Booking Terms and whether you asked to receive marketing emails.
• Messages you send us directly by email, text, phone, WhatsApp or Instagram, including anything you choose to share about your appointment (for example allergies or skin sensitivities, so we can keep you safe).
• Technical data: like every website, our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, date and time). We do not use these logs to identify or profile you.

What we do NOT collect: this website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising pixels, social-media trackers or embedded videos. Fonts are served from our own domain. No payment card details are collected — deposits are paid outside the website.

How we use it

• To answer your request, schedule and provide your makeup service, and send confirmations and reminders.
• Only if you ticked the marketing box: to email you occasional offers and availability updates. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.
• To keep the business and tax records the law requires.
• To protect the website against spam and abuse, and to enforce our Booking Terms.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. It is shared only with the service providers that make the website and bookings work:

• FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) — receives the booking form and forwards it to our inbox.
• Google LLC (Gmail) — stores the emails we exchange with you.
• Hostinger International Ltd. (Larnaca, Cyprus) — hosts the website and keeps the server logs described above.
• The payment app you choose for your deposit (for example Zelle or Cash App), under that app’s own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect our rights in a dispute.

How long we keep it

• Booking requests that do not lead to an appointment: deleted within 12 months.
• Client records (name, contact details, appointment details): up to 3 years after your last appointment, for tax and business records.
• Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.
• Server logs: according to our hosting provider’s standard retention period.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing contact@makeup-byemma.com. We answer within 45 days. Some state privacy laws (for example in Virginia or California) may not apply to a business of our size, but we honor these requests for everyone.

To stop marketing emails, click the unsubscribe link in any of them or reply "unsubscribe". We process opt-outs within 10 business days. You will still receive messages about a booking you have made.

Do Not Track

This website does not track visitors over time or across other websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. The site works the same way whether or not your browser sends one.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Clients under 18 are booked by a parent or legal guardian (see our Booking Terms). If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security and storage

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and access to our inbox is limited to the artist. No online transmission is 100% secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as Social Security or card numbers through the form. Your information is stored in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and its date. Last updated: October 8, 2026.
